Hecho / Burnished Clay Tumbler
Hechos artisan partners have been working with wool for generations. Their home workshop in Southern Mexico offers the family space to collaborate on wool pieces that are made on back-strap and standing loom, as well as knitting, crochet and woodwork.
Individually created by hand with burnished Mexican clay, these pottery cups can play triple duty as a drinking vessel, vase or a sweet home for a cactus. The lovely sheen on our custom drinking vessels is the result of an intense burnishing process with quartz stones that’s done before the traditional pit fire process – they’re not glazed. Not only are these pieces beautiful, they’re lead-free and food safe. As they’re the result of a handmade process, there are elements that should be considered. Please read our notes below.
