Get into Some Magik
The BellJar girls are obsessed with Tarot. We just can't get enough. Somedays it feels hard to even make a decision without consulting our cards! So we thought today we would dig a little deeper and explore the history of these magical cards and share our finding with all you darlings out there. Tarots are composed of 78 cards that are each unique with its own tarot card meaning. The history of the Tarot dates back to the mid 15th century where these playing cards were used in various parts of Europe and were used to play a group of card games such as Italian tarocchini and French tarot. The Tarots have also found use by mystics and occultists as a map of mental and spiritual pathways. Tarot cards are used throughout Europe to play card games. In English speaking countries, Tarot cards are now used for divinatory purposes. So open your mind, draw a card, and have fun on your journey...and if you need a rad deck, and a book to expain how to go about reading these cards- check out the Wild Unknown Tarot Cards that we carry here at BellJar illustrated by Kim Krans. They are filled with magic!! And are great for seasoned readers or those totally new to the Tarot. Shop The Wild Unknown Tarot Cards here!
Girls Who Rock: Deap Vally
Do like girls who rock? If so, we would like you to meet Deap Vally. Deap Vally is a rock n' roll band consisting of Lindsey Troy (vocals & guitar) and Julie Edwards (drums). The girls originally met in a needlepoint class in Los Angeles, bonded over their love for the blues, and started the sassy band that is Deap Vally. With a sound parallel to The Black Keys and Jack White, Deap Vally has made a presence in the rock n' roll world with the release of their first single "Gonna Make My Own Money" shortly followed by their debut album Get Deap. Their music careers as Deap Vally started in 2011, but since then Deap Vally has traveled internationally to play shows and can be seen playing at many popular festivals this summer. What can we say, we love girls who rock. Check out what these ladies of rock n' roll are all about.

Wild Belle Music Love
Wild Belle
Ever since seeing Wild Belle perform at Coachella 2013, I have been hooked. Wild Belle, a band composed of siblings Elliot and Natalie Bergman from Chicago, just released their debut album Isles in March. The album, inspired by soul, jazz, and reggae sounds is the perfect soundtrack for a day of lounging in the park or by the beach, walking through the streets of San Francisco, or driving in your car with the windows down. The band not only has a great sound, but also great style. Some of my favorite songs right now are "It's Too Late", "Another Girl" and, of course, Wild Belle's first single, "Keep You". The band will be gracing audiences with their funky sound throughout the rest of the festival season at festivals such as Lollapalooza and Outside Lands. Check out their website and tunes, we promise they won't disappoint.
